Greenfish is an Icelandic company that combines artificial intelligence, big data, and satellite information to predict the best locations for fishing boats with up to 8-day forecasts has won the international Seafood Innovation Award 2025.
The award was presented to GreenFish at the North Atlantic Seafood Forum currently taking place in Bergen, Norway.
The winner was voted for by the audience and the award jury, and both chose GreenFish from a shortlist of seven finalists who made presentations at NASF.
70-90% accuracy
GreenFish says it can forecast fishing grounds for all major pelagic fish species in the territorial waters of Iceland, Norway, and the herring patch with 70-90% accuracy, and can forecast the expected catch amount at each fishing ground with 70-80% accuracy.
